Kinwell’s Better Together programs are group medical appointments to treat physical and behavioral health conditions. These online appointments offer treatment, education, and the collaborative support of patients working toward a healthy lifestyle. Lifestyle Medicine: An Introduction
This 7-session program introduces patients to the American College of Lifestyle Medicine’s (ACLM) six pillars of good health, with a focus on mindful eating, movement, good sleep, and managing stress.
Lifestyle Medicine: Focus on Diabetes
This single-session program introduces patients with prediabetes or type 2 diabetes to the principles of lifestyle medicine, and how changing daily habits can be an effective treatment option.
Lifestyle Medicine: Diabetes (LEADR)
This 10-session program is based on the ACLM’s LEADR program (Lifestyle Empowerment Approach for Diabetes Remission) and helps patients manage and possibly put type 2 diabetes and prediabetes into remission.
Lifestyle Medicine: GLP-1
This 7-session program supports patients taking a GLP-1 medication for type 2 diabetes or weight loss. These medications are most effective when paired with healthy lifestyle habits.
Lifestyle Medicine: Hypertension
Patients in this 7-session program will learn science-based strategies to manage their blood pressure through healthy eating, consistent movement, managing stress, and getting good quality sleep.
Lifestyle Medicine: Menopause
This 6-session program has been designed for patients experiencing the symptoms of perimenopause and menopause. Patients will learn how healthy habits regarding nutrition, physical activity, and sleep can successfully manage the side effects of this transition.
Continuing the Journey
Patients who complete a Lifestyle Medicine program can receive continued support through these monthly group appointments. In each online session, a Kinwell clinician will explore in depth an ACLM pillar of good health.
Behavioral Health: Coping Skills
Kinwell’s behavioral health team offers coping skills sessions to help patients navigate tough emotions and challenging situations. Patients will learn various strategies to effectively manage stress, build resilience, and improve their overall mental well-being.
Behavioral Health: Putting Insomnia to Bed
This 6-session program treats sleep disorders with cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), an evidence-based program for healthy sleep habits.
Behavioral Health: Winter Blues
This 6-week program is designed to help patients manage their seasonal depression.
