Lifestyle Medicine:
Focus on Diabetes

A single-session group appointment.

Whether you have just been diagnosed with prediabetes or you have lived with type 2 diabetes for years, lifestyle medicine can help. The American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM) has studied healthy lifestyle habits and found they can be as effective as medication in treating diabetes.

Kinwell Primary Care now offers a single-session introduction to treating diabetes with healthy lifestyle practices. Patients will learn how to adopt sustainable lifestyle changes that can improve their health, lower their blood sugar, and help them make lasting changes to their overall well-being. The last 20-minutes of this session will be reserved for questions and individual concerns.

Wednesdays, August 12, Sept. 30, and Oct. 21

Noon – 1:00 pm

This 1-hour medical appointment is held online over a secure Zoom call. Ask your Kinwell clinician if this program is right for you. To learn more and to register, call Lesley Baker, Lifestyle Medicine Coordinator, at (509) 213-4944.

"With virtual care, we can treat people all over Washington. That allows us to take care of so many more people. And group appointments remove any feelings of isolation a patient might have by connecting them with others facing similar health challenges. These support networks help empower patients and allow them to live their best lives."
